Border Reivers

From Hoka Hey Wargaming ´s superb range of figures, sculpted by the late Jim Bowen and previously sold by Monolith under the Graven images label.
I really enjoyed painting these fine fellows, who now occupy a place of honour in my modest collection.
Special thanks to Alan Rudd, Overlord of Hoka Hey Wargaming and Extraordinary Gentleman :D

  1. Very cool figures; all full of character. Are those books in the background graphic novels? Happy New Year!

  2. Thanks Dean :) These figures are extremely well sculpted and are indeed full of character - each one seems to have a distinct "persona". Yes, those are graphic novels - "Passengers of the Wind" , by Bourgeon; "Adventures of Lt. Blueberry" by Charlier & Giraud, "Axle Munshine", by Godard & Ribera, and some others by Moebius ( Giraud´s sci-fi "alter ego") Bilal, EP Jacobs, etc... and, of course, "Tintin" and "Astérix" :) Happy New Year!

    1. Nice - the only "graphic novel" I kind of got into was the series about the Trojan War by Eric Shanower. I was into the Trojan War at the time. :)
